Fuji Whisky

Japan

Fuji Whisky is located at the foot of Japan’s iconic Mount Fuji, 620 metres above sea level. The distillery was founded in 1973 with the ambition of creating whisky suited to Japanese tastes and food culture. Here, pure spring water from Mount Fuji, a cool climate and high humidity come together to provide ideal conditions for slow and gentle maturation.

Fuji Gotemba is an exceptionally versatile distillery. Both malt and grain whisky are produced under one roof, with the entire process – from mashing and distillation to maturation and bottling – taking place on site. By employing a variety of distillation methods, the distillery is able to create a broad spectrum of whisky styles that form the foundation of Fuji’s different expressions.

At the heart of the distillery’s philosophy is “Clean & Estery”, a style characterised by purity, smoothness and a distinctly fruity and floral character. The water used in production is drawn from a depth of approximately 100 metres and has been slowly filtered through layers of volcanic ash and lava from Mount Fuji. Together with the cool, humid climate, this contributes to the elegant style that has become a hallmark of Fuji Whisky.

The result is Japanese whisky where precision, tradition and technical innovation come together, with elegance, balance and fruit-forward character forming a consistent thread throughout the range.
