December 2013.- ‘Guía Proensa 2014’ bestows the highest honor of 100 points to two wines of Marcos and Miguel Eguren: 'La Nieta 2011' from Viñedos de Páganos , and 'Amancio 2010', from Viñedos Sierra Cantabria, both DOCa. Rioja. The wine group is the only that deserves the highest rating for two of its references. In addition, a total of ten wines from Rioja winemakers with projects in its region of origin and in Toro are featured with a score greater than 95, standing at the podium of the best in Spain.

Proensa highlights the path of Marcos and Miguel Eguren in the premium wines and their "fruitful imagination" in the winemaking that has led them to be "one of the pioneers of a whole style of wine that has revolutionized the Rioja ". Proensa portrays ‘La Nieta 2011' as "serious, sophisticated, highly stylized, a well-balanced wine with body and nerve, round, savory and long". Referring to 'Amancio 2010', Proensa speaks of a "great wine with future" and described it as "structured, balanced, tasty and large”. Both wines are carefully handcrafted with manual de-stemming and traditional foot pressing, with just 4,000 bottles of annual production.

"Leading the parade" in Toro

The new stage of Marcos and Miguel Eguren in the DO Toro winery Teso La Monja also deserves Proensa recognition with 99 points for 'Alabaster 2011' and for the most exclusive wine, which takes the name of the winery,' Teso La Monja'. In its second vintage in the market, the 2009, ‘Teso La Monja’ maintains its philosophy of biodynamic grape-growing and winemaking with a low production approach-837 bottles.
